Obituary for Vincent "Uncle Vinnie" Diamante

Vincent Diamante, 84, of Kenilworth passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 19, 2022.

Funeral is from the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at 9am. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Theresa R. C. church, 541 Washington Ave., Kenilworth at 10:30am followed by interment at Graceland Memorial Park in Kenilworth.

Visitation will be Tuesday 4 to 7pm.

Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic Masks are required in the funeral home and church.

Vincent was born in Elizabeth on November 28, 1937. He lived in Kenilworth for more than 40 years. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Elizabeth and retired from the Tile Helpers Union Local #77 in 2001. He also served in the United States Navy for two years.
He is survived by his loving wife; Geraldine (nee: Grondin) Diamante, of more than than 55 years, brother Carmine of Elizabeth, sister Gussie Matus of Mount Laurel, brother Benjamin and wife Gloria of Lakewood and sister Mary Borsellino of Linden. He was brother-in-law to Joan Goldberger of Springfield, Barbara Fichner and Husband Bob Messinger of Kenilworth, Jack Grondin and wife Beverly of Ormond Beach, Florida and Kathleen Dopf of Kenilworth. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was involved with Kenilworth Youth Groups for many years and attended all of their games. He was known as “Uncle Vinnie” to the entire town.
