Obituary for William E. "Driver" Lueddeke Sr.

William “Driver” E. Lueddeke, Sr., 74, of Kenilworth, NJ, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 15, 2021.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 from 3 to 7pm at the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park.

All are invited to meet for a 10:30am Funeral Mass on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at St. Theresa R. C. Church in Kenilworth. Interment will follow to Graceland Memorial Park in Kenilworth.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic only 30 people are allowed in the funeral home. The 30 people MUST wear a mask and six feet social distance.

Born in Newark, NJ, William moved to Kenilworth in 1968.

He was a truck driver for Teamster Local 641 in South Kearny for 35 years before retiring in 2001.

William served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, receiving the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, Vietnam Campaign Metal, 1/503 173d ABN BDE (SEP) from 1966 to 1968.

He was a member of the Sky Soldiers Association, Knights of Columbus Father McVeigh Council 4186 in Kenilworth, V. F. W. Kenilworth Veteran’s Center 2230, American Legion Post 470 of Kenilworth and American Legion Post 29 of Roselle.

William is predeceased by his beloved wife; Mary Ann (nee: McGurk) Lueddeke.
He is survived by two loving children; William E. Lueddeke, Jr. and his wife Laura and Cheryl Ann Lueddeke and three adored grandchildren; William K., James, and Alyssa.
