A long friendship

Jean and I were friends for fifty years. We met in high school and were drawn together by a mutual interest in writing. She had a great gift for loyalty. We kept in touch mostly through the United States postal system, sending each other cards and letters. I looked forward to envelopes from her. I'll never receive another one. I hope she got a great reception when she crossed the rainbow bridge.
