Obituary for Arthur L "Roy" Slocum

Arthur “Roy” L. Slocum, 80, of Whiting formerly of Westfield, NJ, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2015 at Deborah Heart & Lung Center in Pembrook Twsp., NJ.
Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm on Saturday, March 14, 2015 in the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park with a service at 3pm.
Born in Newark, Arthur lived in Westfield for many years, before moving to Whiting in 2006.
He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Arthur worked for Monsanto in Kenilworth for years, and then he worked as a custodian for Hillside School in Cranford.
He is predeceased by his beloved wife Florence I. Slocum; brother Ralph D. Slocum; and sisters Elizabeth Gorman, Marilyn Ryan, Ruth and Olive Slocum.
Arthur is survived by a loving son Arthur Slocum, Jr. and his wife Nikki and three cherished grandchildren Tom, Jess, and Matthew. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
