Obituary for Rocco Malgieri

Rocco Malgieri, 92, of Roselle Park, NJ, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 4, 2015.
Funeral is from the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park, on Monday, June 8, 2015 at 8am. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Elizabeth at 9:30am. Interment will follow to St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia.
Visitation is 2 to 6pm on Sunday.
Born and raised in Elizabeth, NJ, Rocco was a resident of Roselle Park since 1966.
He was employed with Exxon Corporation in Linden for 35 years, retiring 30 years ago.
Rocco proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II, receiving a Purple Heart for injuries he received aboard the USS Colhoun when the ship was sunk during the Battle of Okinawa in 1945.
He was a member of the Crestlin Boys Club in the Peterstown Section of Elizabeth and an usher at St. Anthony of Padua Church.
Rocco is predeceased by his parents and six siblings.
Surviving is his beloved wife of 66 years, Josephine (nee: Caprino), and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
