Obituary for Philip C. Cocuzza

Philip C. Cocuzza, 93, of Cranford passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2015.
Funeral is from the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park, on Monday, June 15, 2015 at 8:30am. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. John the Apostle RC Church on the Linden-Clark line at 10 am. Entombment will follow at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens, in Woodbridge, NJ.
Visitation is on Sunday 4 to 8 pm.
Born in Elizabeth, NJ, Mr. Cocuzza lived in Cranford for sixty-five years.
Mr. Cocuzza served his country as a Master Sergeant in the Army Air Force during WWII, stationed in India supporting the pilots crossing the Burma Hump.
He was an avid Yankee Fan, who enjoyed watching the games with his best friend, the late Sam LaPlaca.
Philip was a member of the Linden Knights of Columbus Council #2859, the Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Holy Name Society at St. John the Apostle RC Church, Clark, where he was an active member of the church.
Mr. Cocuzza was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved spending time with his family and that devotion to his family was an inspiration to all.
He is predeceased by his loving wife of sixty-five years Carmela (nee: Corea) Cocuzza, a loving son-in-law, Joseph Guiliano, his dear sisters Lena, Laura, and Mildred, his dear brothers Frank, Angelo and Lou.
Surviving are four loving children, Anne Marie Guiliano, Philip Cocuzza, Lorraine Palmieri and her husband Joseph, Michael Cocuzza and his wife Elizabeth, six adored grandchildren, Christopher, Melissa, Michael, Carmela, Marco and Sofia, and three cherished great-grandchildren, Mia, Joey and AJ.
Donations in Philip’s memory may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
