Obituary for Carmela Picone (Tripodi)

Carmela Picone, (nee: Tripodi), 102, born on April 18, 1913 and recently had the honor of being the oldest living woman ever born in Kenilworth, NJ and was a lifelong resident, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral is from the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park, on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 8:45am. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Theresa R. C. Church in Kenilworth at 10am. Interment will follow at Graceland Memorial Park in Kenilworth. Visitation is 4 to 8pm on Tuesday.
Carmela was the daughter of Italian immigrants Natale and Augustina Tripodi.
She was a hard working mother, completely devoted to her family. Her family will always treasure the memories of her love, generosity, and being at her table with her fabulous cooking.
Carmela is predeceased by her beloved husband William Picone, loving daughter Joann Lanza and her dear son-in-law Anthony Pazienza.
Surviving are three loving children Susan Pazienza, William Picone and his wife Joyce, and Robert Picone; nine adored grandchildren Natalie, Jon, Matthew, Rachael, Christopher, Camille, Jared, Aaron and Morgan; eleven cherished great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
