Pat was born in Jersey City, NJ and lived in Roselle Park for most of her life.
She worked for Kings Supermarkets for many years before retiring in 2014.
Pat adored the color yellow and most of what she owned, including her car, was sunny yellow. She was the perfect gift giver, always putting much thought into the presents she gave. Also a talented crocheter, Pat designed and produced personalized blankets for family members. Like her parents, Pat was also an avid league bowler for many years. Pat’s unique perspective on life and her distinctive sense of humor made her quite the conversationalist. Listening to her was indeed a treat, since no one told a story quite like Pat. She was also a committed collector of all things which could be contained in “banana boxes.” Family fun was had by all in the opening of Aunt Pat’s boxes and the exchange of their contents. She was always a good sport and very generous with others in the sharing of her collected treasures. Pat loved to watch the game shows, particularly Jeopardy and Family Feud. She had a way of spreading this addiction to all those who watched with her.
Pat is predeceased by her parents, Anne & Joseph McDermott and brother-in-law, Anthony Minieri.
Pat is survived by her loving sisters, Anne Minieri, Mary Straffe & husband Richard; Jean Geronimo & husband John; Carol O’Leary& husband Richard Sr., and Cathy Pitula & husband Bruce. Pat is also survived by her Godson & nephew Kevin O’Leary & fourteen nieces and nephews, Michael Benson, Matthew Benson & wife Nicole, Megan Reilly, Christine Brusgard Cilio & husband Tony, Susan Brusgard, James Brusgard Jr., Colleen Yamakaitis, Robert Yamakaitis Jr., Richard O’Leary Jr., Kimberly O’Leary Scott & husband Andrew, Joseph O’Leary, Elisa Pitula, Jesse Pitula & Tara Pitula. Pat is also survived by ten great-nieces & nephews. Pat is also survived by her very dear aunt, Antoinette Haines and many cousins and friends.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please donate to AUTISM SPEAKS, in Pat’s memory.
