Obituary for Anthony D. Murano

Anthony D. Murano, 78, of Rahway, NJ, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 7, 2016.
Funeral is from the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at 8:45am. A Divine Liturgy will follow to St. Thomas the Apostle Byzantine Catholic Church in Rahway at 10am. Interment will follow to St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia.
Visitation is on Monday 4 to 8pm with Parastas at 4pm.
Born in New Haven, CT, Anthony lived in Rahway, NJ for 54 years before moving to Iselin, NJ 2 years ago.
He was a Security Officer at General Motors in Linden, NJ for 17 years, retiring in 2002, prior to that he was a Spirits Reducer for Gordon’s Gin in Linden for 22 years.
Anthony was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Linden, Rahway Retirement Club, and the Union County Board of Directors for ABC Bowling.
An avid bowler he was a member of multiple bowling leagues throughout Union County.
Anthony is predeceased by his beloved wife of 50 years Elizabeth D. (nee: Mitko).
Surviving are two loving daughters Mary Ann Pfingst and her husband Gregory and Betty Ann Bullaro and her husband Gregory; four cherished grandchildren Patrick Russo, Pamela Sanders, Nicholas Ponticello and Michelle Nabbie; two adored grandsons Michael and A. J. Sanders; a dear brother Julius Murano; a dear sister Marie Sparano; and a caring companion Betty Kampo.
