Obituary for August H. Sovay

August H. Sovay, 85, of Cranford, NJ, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 17, 2016.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral services in the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park at 9am. Please be at the funeral home 8am. Interment will be at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ.
Visitation will be 4 to 8pm on Thursday.
Born in Newark, NJ, August lived in Cranford, NJ for 43 years.
He was a paper handler for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. in Edison for many years, retiring 23 years ago, prior to that he was a paint mixer for Sherwin Williams in Newark, NJ.
August served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army as a Parachute Trooper and a Corporal.
He was a member of Howard F. Schwartz Post 408 American Legion in Newark, and the Union Elks BPOE Lodge 1583.
He is predeceased by two dear brothers Alfred and Robert Sovay.
August is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years Estelle L. “Babe” (Faddish) Sovay; three loving children Kathleen Sovay, Diane Sovay Cotroneo and her husband Andrew, and August R. Sovay and his wife Margaret; five adored grandchildren April, Stephanie, Andreana, Justin, and Brandon; and three cherished great-grandchildren Blake, L. T., and Skyler.
