Obituary for George M. Benko

George M. Benko, 83, of Kenilworth, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 1, 2015.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral services in the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park, on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 11am. Please be at the funeral home 10am. Entombment will follow to St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia. Visitation is Tuesday 5 to 9pm.
Born in Irvington, NJ, George lived in Newark before moving to Kenilworth 46 years ago.
He was a plumber for the City of Newark Housing Authority for 27 years until he retired in 1991.
George served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army receiving several service medals.
He is predeceased by his beloved wife Jadzia “Hedwig” (Zlydaszyk) Benko in April 2009 and a dear brother Michael Benko.
Surviving are two loving children Donnamarie Corbisiero and Steven E. Benko and his wife Valbone; cherished grandfather of Steven Bo, Anthony J., Jr., Francine, Diana, and Leona. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.
