Eva Pozsonyi, resident of Roselle Park for 50 years, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Memorial Services will be conducted from the Mastapeter Funeral Home of Roselle Park, 400 Faitoute Avenue, on Friday, April 27, 2018 from 4-7pm. Born in Hungary on August 16, 1937, Eva left her native country in 1956 following the outbreak of the Revolution. She lived in Italy for two years and then immigrated to the United States in 1958 and was married to Karoly Pozsonyi for 56 years until his death in 2015. Eva was the loving mother of four children; Charles, Eva and her husband Richard Teller, Thomas and his wife Tracy, and Victor and his wife Lori. Eva was the proud grandmother of five grandchildren; James G. Teller, Victor M. Pozsonyi Jr., Tori N. Pozsonyi, Anthony T. Pozsonyi, and Jesse T. Teller. She is also survived by her beloved sisters, Judith and Ilona, her brother Viktor, nephew Victor, niece Judi and extended family whom she loved dearly. Eva was an exceptional cook and loved to prepare traditional Hungarian dishes to the delight of her family and all who visited. For the first time after leaving Hungary 57 years earlier, Eva had the joyful opportunity to visit her native country again in 2013 to marvel at the old and new. She would make the bittersweet trip with her family one more time in 2016 to fulfill the final wishes of her husband following his death in 2015.
