We met Tony and the rest of the family about 4 years ago when we moved into the neighborhood. As we got to know him. we came to look forward to seeing him walking around the outside of the house nearly daily, with his hands clasped behind his back and of course watching over the neighborhood. When we were preparing our house for the holidays with decorations we remember him coming over and saying "Boy you do a good job, don't you ever get tired?" As spring time came and we were preparing the garden for the upcoming season, Tony would always stand next to the fence, inspect the work being done and say, " Looking good, that must be some good dirt!" When we had our first garage sale, he sat on the steps with us and as potential customers parked in front, he would say "Geez, looks like ya got a live one!" But most of all, what we personally will never forget, is the way he would see one of our girls running up to him to yell 'Hi Tony" and his immediate response was always, "Heeey......Where's your sister.....why are you so pretty....did Mommy do your hair?" I don't know if he knew both of our girls names after 4 years, or for that matter, could even hear them when they said hello each time, What I do know and will never forget is the smile that he had every time he saw them playing, no matter how loud they were. He welcomed them and us to the neighborhood and was always kind and generous. Our condolensces as he will truly be missed.
