Obituary

Frances R. DeMarco (nee D’Abrosca), 92, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2020 at the Clark Nursing & Rehab Center in Clark N.J.

A private service was held by the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park a public memorial Mass will be held at a later date due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Frances was born on August 18, 1927 in Trenton N. J. She was the youngest child of Italian immigrant parents, Lucia and Pasquale. She had 3 siblings, one of which was killed in action during the liberation of France in WWII.

Fran was the beloved wife and best friend of her one and only true love, the late Patrick Sr. She passed away on what would have been their 72nd Wedding Anniversary.

As co-owner of DeMarco Shoe Service with her husband in Roselle Park, Fran worked the counter of the “shop” for decades and enjoyed talking with customers. Her ability to communicate, and more importantly to listen, was second to none. Her caring spirit will be greatly missed.

She is predeceased by her husband Patrick Sr. and survived by her beloved sons Robert and his wife Elizabeth of Roselle Park and Patrick and his wife Catherine of East Windsor, and 2 grandsons, Bryan and Kevin.

Dear Rob and Paddy - So sorry for your loss. Even more sorry when I heard about how she passed, without the benefit of loved ones by her side. I cannot imagine leaving like this. And the wake and burial service; so surreal. My heart goes out to you. Your parents were such great friends and neighbors to my parents and role models to me. God Bless Fran

Thank you so much, John. Please give my best to your Mom and Dad. I really enjoyed their company when I visited my mom. Your Aunt Angela and my Mom were a good team. They're now in Heaven....

My grandmother was Jenny (Giovanna) DeMarco married to Sabato Cere. So my father, Nicholas, was cousin to Pat. Every time I walked into the store I was greeted with a smile and the remark “you’re Nicky’s daughter “. Growing up then in Roselle Park your identity was always familial. Condolences to all your families and may happy memories aid in your sorrow.
