Obituary for Thomas J. McCaffery
Thomas J. McCaffery, 73, of Roselle Park, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark.
Funeral is from the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park, on Monday, August 11, 2014 at 9:45am. A Funeral Mass will be offered at Church of the Assumption in Roselle Park at 11am. Interment is at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield. Visitation will be 3 to 7pm on Sunday.
Born in Queens, NY, Thomas moved to Roselle Park, NJ, 45 years ago.
A court stenographer, he co-owned William C. O’Brian Associates in Kenilworth for 50 years.
Thomas served his country proudly in the United States Army National Guard during the Vietnam War.
He was a member of the Msgr. Joseph Loretti Knights of Columbus #3240 of Roselle Park, a Silver Card Holder with the Union County 200 Club, Roselle Park Volunteer Fireman Central Hose Company, a coach and on the executive board for the Roselle Park Youth Baseball, and a member of the Dad’s Club of Roselle Park.
Surviving is his beloved wife of 51 years Mary (McDermott) McCaffery, five loving sons and their spouses Thomas and his wife Barbara, Kevin and his wife Amy, Tim and his wife Debbie, Dennis and his wife Erin, and Daniel and his wife Doris, and dear brother of Michael and Maureen McCaffery. Also surviving are 14 adored grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Humane Society of New Jersey www.ahscares.org in Thomas's memory.
