Obituary for Edward W. Brown

Edward W. Brown, 69, of Plainsboro, NJ, passed away Friday, December 12, 2014 at home.
A viewing will be held on Friday morning, from 9 to 11am December 19, 2014 in the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park. A graveside service will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, NJ.
Ed was an active and well-respected member of the flavor and fragrance industry for well over 40 years including time spent at H. Kohnstamm & Company International Flavors and Fragrances (IFF), and Givaudan.
Ed embodied the advice he gave his children, to “Do what you love.”
A toastmaster, Ed was a gifted story and joke teller capable of entertaining a room with his wit and humor.
Born in New York City and raised in Woodhaven, NY he was an avid sports fan who played tennis at Queens College where he studied political science. Later he coached soccer, softball, baseball, and basketball, for nearly a decade in South Brunswick, NJ. In addition to his love of sports, he was an avid news follower, crossword puzzle completer, and music fan. He passed many of his passions on to his children.
He is predeceased in death by his mother Doris Beissel.
Surviving is his step-father Edward Beissel, son Stephen, and his daughter Jennifer.
