Condolence: Words cannot express how sad I am to lose my friend. Gil was a friend to all. You never heard a complaint from him and he was always willing to help. I can't even count how many times he opened the doors for me so that I could get into the PTO closet. We spoke many times about his life and how much he loved Gil Jr. and how proud he was of him. I will miss this angel of a man forever and my heart aches knowing that I will never see him again on this earth. I know that he is in heaven because he was an angel on earth. My condolences to his family. I am truly sorry for your loss.

Condolence: Gil...my go to man...you will be sorely missed at Harding School. May you rest easy in the loving arms of the Lord. May He comfort Gil, Jr. and the rest of your family. Their memories of you will become more precious every day that passes...and when we talk and reminisce, it will be with great fondness in our hearts.

Condolence: I will miss having Gil in the hallways at school. He always had kind words and a smile to greet me. Gil and I spoke often over the years. We would speak about plants and gardening. We also spent time talking about the kids. Gil had a heart for children, but especially for his son. I will always remember Gil as a man that cared about others as he worked to serve them. Gil made our school family a better one. I am grateful to have had a chance to know him and honored to have worked with him. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

Condolence: I spent a great deal of time with Gil over the years in the school courtyard as I worked on art projects, and he took care of the lawn and plantings there as well as tending to his annual vegetable garden. Gil was such a hard worker, and he took such pride in all he did. He made the courtyard look beautiful, and it was always in record time. Whenever any of us needed anything he made it happen, and he never complained, even when people were asking him for help at the same time. He just wanted the school to look its best, and he wanted the community, including students, faculty, administration, and visitors to enjoy their time there. I had many conversations with Gil about his memories of his childhood, his appreciation of nature, and his love for his family, but what I remember most is how much he loved his son Gil. There was nothing he liked to do more than to spend time with him. He was one of the most concerned and loving fathers that I know, and although I admire him for so much, I will remember him most for that. We will miss you Gil!

Condolence: Gil was a kind-hearted man who ensured that everyone at Brearley was always comfortable and happy. The amount of time he contributed to my Class, Relay for Life, and the school as a whole made him an angel on earth. Having his company after school while waiting for a ride home was the best part of any student's day. He genuinely cared about each of us. RIP.

Condolence: Gil was a shining star of a man, a gentle soul, a person who always radiated love and kindness. He was a great example to the teachers and students of how to live your life with joy, even if you were busy with work or burdened with troubles. He greeted me the first day I met him as he did the last day that I saw him with a smile, a friendly handshake and with warm wishes. My world was better because I had the opportunity to know him.
