Elaine Judith McTague died on April 28th at her home surrounded by her love ones. She was 73 years old.
Memorial services are not available for friends and most family due to the current pandemic. Elaine will be laid to rest on Tuesday, May 5th at St. Gertrude at 53 Inman Ave, Colonia, NJ. Mastapeter Funeral home at 400 Faitoute Ave in Roselle Park will be handling the limited arrangements.

Elaine was born in Elizabeth, NJ in 1946. She grew up in Roselle, NJ and attended Abraham Clark High School before eventually moving to Roselle Park, NJ where she resided over the past 41 years. She worked as a personal account manager for Meeker Sharkey Insurance in Cranford, NJ for over 30 years.

Elaine was a person of deep faith and loved being active in various groups through the Church of the Assumption in Roselle Park where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. She worked with the Stitches Group which amongst other things made prayer shawls and blankets for those in need. She took that idea and on her own made many blankets for the vets at the PTSD unit in the Lyons VA Hospital in Lyons, NJ. She worked with the Lazarus Group which helped people deal with bereavement and she worked for the Food Pantry every other Tuesday. Elaine dedicated her life to God and family and was a great friend to many. She led by example and always had more to give of herself for those in need.

Elaine was predeceased by her sons Brian Kelly, William Jr. and her brother Hugh Bisset. In 2007 she lost the love of her life and husband of 31 years William McTague Sr.

Elaine is survived by her sons Sean and his wife Leonor, Andrew and his wife Sherri and her daughter Dee. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Andrew, Kaitlin, Kelly, Nicole, Collin, Samantha and Eric and two great grandchildren Kyle and Maverick. Also missing Elaine are her three sisters Mary, Barbara and Janet and her brother Kevin Bisset.

In lieu of flowers we ask if you can donate to the charities Elaine believed in. Samaritan’s Purse (, St Jude ( or the Food Pantry run through the Church of the Assumption in Roselle Park.

A memorial service and a celebration of life will follow in the near future.

Elaine was a wonderful person, I worked with her for many years and she was who I looked up to when I started at Meeker Sharkey. There was so much to learn from her, her knowledge, experience, the way she handled her clients, the way she interacted with her colleagues, and how wonderful she was outside of the office walls. She loved her family and often talked abut her grandchildren. One great soul, she indeed truly led by example. She will be missed!

My deepest condolences to the family!

Elaine was s wonderful woman who was loved and cherished by many people. My condolences to her family.

Funny stories was when her brother Skip needed bathing when he got home from Magee. We would take him outside and bathe him with the hose. We had many laughs. Elaine and Janet would ask if Paula was coming because I was fast in getting it done.

I will miss her she đź’”
